ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

December 30, 1986

Mitch woke up with Felicia and without clothes.

Brittany dreamed that Catlin came into her cell and told her she was free. She woke up. Zack came in and told her to get dressed.

Felicia told Mitch what a hero he'd been at the fire. She explained how they'd come to be in bed together. She doesn't have any clothes either. He stomped around clad in a blanket until he could get his clothes. He agreed to go out for New Year's with her.

Rachel tried to contact Mac. Michael dropped by. There's no evidence against Reginald with this fire thing. He wants to talk to Mac, but Rachel will do. He wants to know if Mac is JPZ. Mac is not. Michael's afraid the gift horse has bad breath. She assured him Donna would get better.

Scott and Cheryl woke up in bed together. He told her he was insulted because she'd fallen asleep in the middle of a story. She bugged him about Patricia. He assured her Patricia had meant nothing to him. They started brawling (in a nice loverlike fashion) as Mary walked in.

Zack told Brittany he thought he could get an appeal on several grounds, such as the fact that she had been questioned without an attorney [does that count? People warned her and explained several thousand times but she insisted on having her say. I suppose this rule is in order to protect the chronically stupid.] and that the press had carried on so badly, among other things. He warned her that she might not be released pending the appeal. And even if Peggy decided she could go, she might ask for $250,000 as an appeal bond. Brittany thought of Rachel's money and her eyes lit up [nastily, I thought].

When pressed Matthew told Rachel that everything was wrong. He's confused about Rachel and Mitch. She told him she loved Mac. He stomped off. Zack phoned to ask Rachel's help for Brittany.

Mary was shocked. Scott explained what had happened. She rushed him out to help Nancy. Mary told Cheryl that being eighteen was not an excuse to be irresponsible. Cheryl insisted that she was grown up and it was none of her business.

Rachel rushed over to the jailhouse with the money. Not that Brittany knows if she'll need it yet, but. Zack returned.

Just after Nancy disappeared into the kitchen Tony came in for lunch. Mary took his order. He was evasive about where he worked. Peter stomped in to talk about his father. He told Mary there was no need for her to be working and they'd help her. She refused.

Wallingford is in no mood to celebrate. He told Felicia they had to meet with the insurance guy at Mary's Place.

Brittany's appeal has been granted. Brittany was thrilled. Peggy arrived to rain on her parade. Brittany bitched at her unnecessarily. She told her she and Catlin and their baby were going to go to Montana and try to forget they'd ever seen her. Peggy told her she needed her permission to leave town and she thought she was a bad risk. Brittany said she couldn't stand staying in Bay City what with the publicity and all.

Tony got his cheque and left. Rachel arrived and told Peter off. She told him about the appeal. He rushed off to do something. Rachel settled in to wait for Mitch. Greg came in as Nancy returned from the kitchen. Greg: I came in here to ask you out but I see I was beaten to the punch. Nancy: What are you talking about? Greg: The waiter from the Christmas party. Nancy: What about him? Greg: He was just here. Nancy dashed out but failed to catch him. Greg stomped off in a huff. Felicia and Wallingford and Mitch arrived. Rachel asked Mitch to meet her at the old apartment in an hour. The insurance guy told Felicia that her insurance had been cancelled because the premiums hadn't been paid for three months. Felicia had a dim recollection of receiving the cancellation notices. Wallingford got upset.

Peggy assured Brittany that it wasn't personal, she really believed that she was guilty.

Michael told Mary that he hadn't been able to find out who JPZ was. It's not Reginald or Mac or him. She left. Michael asked Scott if he'd found any evidence. Scott told him he wanted the truth and he didn't want him using things against Reginald. Michael told him he was wrong about Reginald. Peter returned as Michael left and asked Mary to come out for New Year's with him.

Cheryl helped Scott into the final touches of his tuxedo. She's feeling inferior again. She told him Mary had advised her to slow down. Scott took Mary's side, especially since Vince is away.

Peter badgered Mary. She asked him if his father were going to be at Tops. He assured her that Reginald would be moping indoors at home without her. He said Scott and Cheryl and MJ would be there. She gave in. Peter made a phone call to say it was all set.

Felicia wondered where Mitch could be. Wallingford tried to cheer her up about the money.

Mitch and Rachel met. She had something to say.
