ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

August 30, 1985

Marley's shut up in a bedroom. The bozos down below are getting Jake riled with their comments about Victoria's tendency to easy virtue. They won't let him leave.

Zane doesn't trust the Lesoleil process.

Carl came to see Nancy in hospital. He said it was odd the box had disappeared.

I think Daphne has the box.

Carl said stealing from a patient in hospital was low. Nancy told him she and Chris had looked through the contents. Carl was terribly kind and remorseful. Prison has changed him. Nancy is dear to him because of Perry. She wept. He asked forgiveness. She has to go. WHERE IS THAT BLOODY BOX?

Zane is as before. He'll wait. Felicia placed herself in Michaud's hands.

Jake is valiantly taking on the bozos. Ned's coming. A very loud noise.

Cass: guess what I found out. Kathleen: something at the Chapin house, right? Cass: yeah. Kathleen: what is it, was I right? Cass: don't you want to hear how I found out first? Kathleen: well judging from that smirk on your face I'd say it has something to do with Daphne. Cass: we had drinks last night. At HER place. Kathleen: fabulous. What did you find out? Cass: well I was deucedly clever if I do say so myself. She invited me for six but she's always on time, which is disgusting, but I got there at 5:45 and told the butler that my watch was fast. Kathleen: deucedly clever. Cass: yes. So Jose stashed me in the library — Kathleen: Jose. Cass: Jose, yeah, the butler, would you stop interrupting me? Kathleen: I'm sorry. Cass: thank you. So Jose stashed me in the library but of course as soon as Jose left I started snooping around. Kathleen: what did you find? Cass: Kathleen, there's a whole wing that hasn't been remodeled yet, not even dusted. Kathleen: what is in it? Cass: a lot of antiques, nothing but antiques, lots of them. Kathleen: that's all? Cass: listen, I'm not talking about Americana here, I'm talking real antiques, Queen Anne, Louis XIV — Kathleen: wait — didn't anybody stop you from looking in there? Cass: no. No guards — Kathleen: no dogs? Cass: no dogs. Kathleen: well don't you think that is weird? All that security and they don't have them guarding the antiques that are valuable? Cass: guess what else I found. Kathleen: what? Cass: lots of books on hieroglyphics and drawings of hieroglyphics. Kathleen: is that a big deal? Cass: Daphne thought it was. Kathleen: what do you mean? Cass: she found me in there looking at them. Kathleen: well what did she do? Cass: well she was very angry. Kathleen: yeah? Cass: yeah. I thought she was going to rupture her — snood. Kathleen: well you know I always did think there was something Snooty about her. Cass: yeah, well whatever is going on with these hieroglyphics she doesn't want anybody to know about it. Kathleen: little did she know she was going to deal with Nick Charles Winthrop. Cass: what do you make of all this? Kathleen: I say we have our next case — Nicky.

Daphne found something in Frederick's handwriting.

A song with associations with Edouard was played for Felicia. She was shown pictures of a wonderful time.. She said "I loved you." She cried a little. "I miss you." His voice spoke to her.

Jake got through to Marley. She wanted to fix his hand. "I have a first aid kit in my bag." "you hit the road with a first aid kit?" "I like to be prepared." He doesn't like iodine. She fixed him good. They have to go out the window. "This is not going to be easy" "it's OK. I was a campfire girl." He went ahead to test the tree. She whimpered about going home.

Victoria came across Carl. Carl: why, Marley. It's a whole new you. Vic: I'm going to give you 5 seconds to get out of here. Carl: such BRAVADO, Marley. You know Marley you really mustn't leave the front door off the latch like that. Anyone could walk in. Vic: I'm not Marley and I want you to get out. Carl: of course you're Marley. Vic: I know who you are though. Carl: Oh yes, I should hope so. Vic: it's the accent. You're Carl Hutchins. Carl: that's right. Vic: I thought you were supposed to be chiseling away at little license plates somewhere. Carl: Marley you really have changed. Vic: I'm not Marley, OK? I'm Victoria. Carl: Victoria. Vic: yes. Her twin. Carl: I told Donna this would happen if she didn't let up on you. Vic: what are you talking about? Carl: you've disassociated, haven't you? Vic: I don't know what that means. Carl: you know, split personality, The Three Faces of Eve, all that kind of thing. Vic: when Marley was born she had a twin. It was me and then they gave me away. Carl: now come on, stop joking. Vic: I'm not. Carl: all right then. All right then. Where are you from? Vic: I'm from a little town called Lassiter. It's kind of a dump. Carl: this is wonderful. I mean it's quite wonderful. TWINS, separated at birth, one grows up rich, the other grows up poor. It's worthy of the Brothers Grimm. Vic: so now you know who I am why don't you just leave? Carl: I'm positively undone. I thought I knew all the secrets of the Love family. Vic: well you didn't. Don't you think it's time that you left? Carl: may I ask you something? Did Donna — did Donna ever talk about me? Vic: sure. She told me about being married to you. Carl: she told you things like that? Vic: what does that mean? No, nothing like THAT. Donna is my sister. Carl: well, she HAS been honest with you, hasn't she? Did she know she had two — sisters? Vic: no. Carl: well you must have been a right little shocker then. And what does dear old stuffy Peter — how did he take to you? Vic: he's OK. He doesn't like you much though. Carl: no, no. Vic: he says you're responsible for a lot of people being killed. Carl: oh, Peter exaggerates. Vic: you didn't have anyone killed? Carl: you know I don't know how I could have possibly mistaken you for Marley. You're so DIFFERENT. Vic: how? Carl: well you're not frightened of me, for one thing. Vic: and Marley is? Carl: yeah, I think so. Vic: Donna says that I'm like her. Carl: so you are. Vic: I think you'd better go. Carl: is Marley about? Actually I came to see her. Vic: no. She's out of town. Carl: pity. I wanted to introduce her to the son of an old friend of mine. A mite wealthy. Vic: WHO? Carl: do I see a sparkle of interest? Vic: NO. I just thought I might know him that, that's all. It turned out to be Chris. She told him proudly she'd been out with him and Chris hated his father and had tried to give his money away. Carl's parting shot: "no wonder Marley's out of town... It must be very difficult for her with you around."

Felicia asked Michaud about the visualization. She thought it was supposed to be about her future but Edouard was a part of her past. Michaud said Monsieur would always be a part of her life. She disagreed. Seeing him again was not unpleasant. She fled to prepare for the gala telling Michaud it had been wonderful. "Soon, Felicia" breathed Michaud.

< a name="Frederick">Chris is his father. Apparently Carl is exempt from the curse because he was left at the tomb entrance as lookout. Daphne is reading a letter from Frederick to Carl. Frederick is dying but he won't tell Carl where the treasure is. Daphne's mad at him. The gardener came in and caught Daphne 's attention by saying Frederick had moved the garden. He was buried where the garden used to be. The stone is a pyramid. "Among the paths of flowers" murmured Daphne and went out.

Jake came back for Marley. Enter Oz to keep them. He's accumulated backup. He says Vicki is different.

Daphne stumbled around in the overgrown bits until she found the pyramid. "You won't find anything there, love" Carl called out cheerily from the shrubbery. "I've already looked." Daphne took fits at him. He demanded the box back. She denied everything. He told her the grave was empty. He recognizes her as the mistress. Daphne is not her real name. Carl wants the treasure. He suggested a merger. She declined. "that is a pity... Collaboration could be such fun. Chapin told me wonderful things about you." she called him a monster. He said he'd been a model prisoner. She said his time was limited and hers wasn't. He left.

Felicia told Zane about the visualization. She says now she knows it's finally over with Edouard. He presented her with vacation plans.

Michaud went to see his father EDOUARD in the secret wing.

Marley's terrified. Jake won't let anything happen to Marley. He told her Victoria used to tease those guys to get what she wanted. Marley told him Vic loved him and he was all she had. He said Victoria had a family and money now and had no further use for him. It's storming.
