ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

December 26, 1986

Reginald showed Victoria the restaurant at the top of the Wentworth Tower. [It really annoys me the way these people keep on about the fact that this is the highest building in Bay City puts the Love family on top. It's stupid.] She was thrilled. He said all this meant nothing without Mary.

Scott told Cheryl he'd hit paydirt.

Mac found Rachel's gift from Mitch while tidying up.

Catlin brooded. Brittany had no been allowed to see him and the baby very long yesterday. The power at the Northwoods Inn went off. Mitch advised everyone to stay calm. Wallingford offered soothing drinks on the house. The lights came back on. Mitch doesn't like this.

Mrs Lawrence could help prove Vince's alibi — if they pay her cat's veterinary bill. $80. Prometheus and her cat got into a fight at just the right time for Vince, it seems.

Mac read the inscription and got upset. Rachel told Mac she intended to return the ring although she hadn't been able to avoid accepting it. Mac took off with Jamie in pursuit.

Victoria suggested they call the restaurant Tops [as in friendly market]. They sang "You're the top" a little. Victoria badly. Reginald heard a noise and feared for his life lest it was Vince, that dangerous murderer, on the loose. It was Scott. Victoria bugged him about Patricia. He told her to shut up. Reginald asked her to leave them alone. Victoria flounced out, saying Scott was a traitor. That Old Carrot asked if it were true.

Cheryl left an important message for Adam and MJ. Mary went to do something.

Mac thought about the silhouetted kissing etc. He sobbed in his car. Jamie caught up with him. Mac yelled at him to go away. He wants to have fun on his own. He drove off in a hurry.

Scott told Reginald he had evidence that Vince was innocent. Reginald refused to believe him and asked who it was. Scott refused to tell him because he doesn't trust him. Reginald was furious and stood seething with righteous indignation as Scott defended Vince's flight. He said he loved Cheryl. Enter Mary. Reginald chuckled irritatingly.

Mac got tanked up at Mary's Place. Nancy tried to find out what was wrong. She refused to serve him any more. He wandered off in search of other consolation. Nancy phoned Rachel. Mac phoned Rose at the Northwoods Inn and made arrangements to join her. Nancy told Rachel to fetch Mac home. Mac left. Cheryl told Nancy where Mac had gone.

Felicia was kind to Catlin. He left. Wallingford assured Felicia they'd make more money soon. The power went off. Mitch plugged something in. There was a shock. He got a nasty burn. He told Felicia it might be a good idea to close down if it happened again. She agreed and left. Wallingford warned Mitch he'd have to answer to him if he hurt Felicia.

Mary had Scott leave them alone. She yelled at Reginald. She told him she saw through him. He asked her to come back to him and help him change.

Jamie arrived at Mary's Place. Nancy sent him on to the Northwoods Inn.

Nancy's waiter (a mere temporary waiter) interrogated Sara. He seems to feel the same way about Nancy as she does about him. Sara didn't recognise Nancy from his description. She indicated Victoria and suggested he ask her.

Scott and Cheryl and Nancy took the money to Mrs Lawrence. Mrs Lawrence got on Cheryl's nerves a little telling her how wild the McKinnons were. She railed against Prometheus. Cheryl defended him. Mrs Lawrence demanded her money. After they coughed up she denied ever having seen Vince. All she saw was Prometheus. She showed them out.

Tony [the waiter] did ask Victoria. She came on to him most terribly but she was unable to identify Nancy either. Jamie dashed through. Since Tony had left she buttonholed him instead.

Mac is very silly. He asked Rose to dance. Rachel arrived. Jamie tried to keep her out but she pushed past him. She returned Mitch's ring. Victoria asked Jamie to tell her his troubles.

Mary told Reginald she didn't want to believe he'd done all the terrible things people said he'd done. She asked why he hurt people. He confessed to a craving for power. He swore he'd give it up if she came back.

Nancy apologised to Catlin for her testimony. He forgave her. Sara rushed in. Catlin left as soon as he heard the jury's deliberations were over. Sara told her about the waiter. Nancy demanded to know his name. Sara said it was Tony, she didn't know the last [cf Greg].

Cheryl assured Scott he wasn't a complete idiot. Kissing. She asked if he would stay all night like this.

Rachel told Mitch they had to talk. She joined Mac and Rose. The power went off and the tree caught fire. There was a lot of screaming.
