Victoria is declaring her intention to give up Jake and throw herself at a stranger's head.
Zane and Felicia are out to dinner. DAMN.
Gerhard told Michaud Edouard had postponed his visit again and might not come at all. Michaud says Felicia won't wait forever.
Kathleen snooping around. "Where am I? The twilight zone?"
Vic called Chris to offer to show him some of the hot spots. He agreed to take her to dinner at a French restaurant. He'll pick her up in an hour. Enter Donna, dead beat as a result of working toward the Night of Gold. Vic told her about the Chapin date [neglecting to mention she'd brazenly asked him out]. Donna advised her to borrow Marley's clothes. She suggested she exhort Marley to return for the Night of Gold.
Zane and Felicia are dancing. "if the guys at the live bait shop could see me now." DAMN. Ick.
Michaud yelled at Edouard. He told him how great Felicia was. He is to be plastic surgered at the estate. He agreed to come. He will begin to live again once his face has been rebuilt.
Kathleen has decided this is weird. She's found a bunch of Edouard Gérard films. Why?
Jake and Marley are seeing the sights of Johnstown. He's thrilled that their different backgrounds make no difference to her. He wants to change and BE somebody. He said everything would be different when he got back to Bay City. Suddenly a strange man recognized him.
Victoria doesn't care what Marley finds out about her. "Let Ned think it's her who stole his stupid car. Let him think it's her he wants to go to bed with. Let her spend the night in the Lassiter jail. That'd be a new experience." She told Bridget to tell Jake she was out with that doctor if he called. She left with Chris.
Kathleen stumbled about. Men wandered around rearranging furniture. Gerhard called a doctor to inform him the patient would arrive tomorrow. Rustling paper. I think Kathleen found a dog. A BIG dog.
Felicia and Zane. They're forced to eat dessert. They are eager to escape to her place so they donated the raspberry soufflé to the kitchen staff. DAMN. They left. They went to her place. They found Wally there. [Am I ever glad.]
Kathleen found Daniel and got him to get rid of the puppy. He bundled her out.
Victoria is picking at her food. Artichokes and snails fail to thrill her. He told her he'd tried to give away large portions of his father's money to starving Egyptians. She said she'd NEVER give away money. She told him about the Night of Gold. She is a little mad. He got nice and they laughed.
The stranger used to know Jake's father. He vanished into the blue calling Marley Jake's "missus" and telling her to take care of him. She indulged in gratified fits of laughter. His father died when he was 12. A miner. She says her family is weird but close. Marley suddenly realized that Jake has been referring to Donna as her mother. He shouldn't know this. She figured out Vic told him. She can't think why she did. Jake said it was just that Donna struck him as her mother. He feigned surprise when Marley told him she really was. Jake thought about Vic commanding him to stop Marley. He made a phone call.
Chris took Victoria home. Donna graciously left them alone together. He has to go. They had a wonderful time but they'll have a better time next time. Long silence. She can't understand his inclination to give away money. "Well. I guess you had to be there." Exit Chris. Enter Donna. Donna was appalled to hear he had given away so much money. Vic said she'd make him like her if they went out again. Donna likes Victoria's taste in men better than Marley's.
Wallingford has decided to surprise Felicia with a bunch of Edouard Gérard films on video tape. Zane might as well join them now that he's there. Wally's got enough to last all night.
Daniel dumped Kathleen at home. She demanded an explanation. He ticked her off soundly. She persisted. She told him about the phone call she'd overheard. He told her some of Lesoleil's clients needed plastic surgery. She asked about the security. He put it down to Europeans in charge. He told her to stay away. He kissed her and left. She said "if nothing's going on how do you explain this?"
Marley reappeared and Jake got off the phone. She's ready to go to Lassiter.
Things are mildly strained at Felicia's. Wally left the room for a minute. They can't hurt his feelings. He returned. He started a film.
Victoria's belligerent. She told Bridget about the bomb of a date. She said Donna would help her do better for herself than Jake. And she said she didn't care if he called. Bridget said that was good because he hadn't. Vics going to get in thick with Donna. No matter what.
Marley and Jake are motoring along.
The film was suddenly too scratchy for Wally's taste and he said he was going dancing. "Felicia i can't stay around here all the time, I've got to go develop a social life." They tried to stop him. He fled. [I think he's clued in.] He talked to himself about loving them both. He wandered off singing a very warped version of the Marseillaise. On the inside Felicia knew he knew and agonized over having hurt him. Zane reassured her. She wants to be with him.
