ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

August 21, 1985

The Todds are happy with their [as yet unnamed] baby.

Catlin's going out refusing to tell Sally where but appeasing her by saying it's a surprise.

Felicia is too busy to help with Zane's boat but they're having lunch later. A big deal dress designer by the name of Duncan Avery has designed some dresses for Kathleen. She's dumbstruck. They were introduced. The dresses are courtesy of Michaud. A bunch of dresses were trundled out on models. Kathleen was thrilled. Enter Daniel. He was impressed. Exit Daniel in search of Michaud. Kathleen is to try the dresses on.

Cass is refusing to authorize payments for fixing up of the Chapin estate. Daphne's refusing to let him see the fixing up to put his mind at rest about where the money is going. They'll speak to Michaud. Exit Cass. Daphne then spoke in a sinister fashion to some man she was dispatching to the cabin [as far as I can make out he is to do something to the Ewings, but I can't tell whether it's naughty or nice. Daphne sounds naughty but you can never tell].

Larry showed the baby to Adrienne. She knows Carter. She got depressed [she got shot so she can't have kids]. He is reassuring about her trial. She asked "do you think if we'd met earlier we might have had kids?" He started blathering on about her fingernails. Enter Clarice. Adrienne suggested they [she and Clarice] talk alone. Larry protested but Clarice sent him away. Adrienne told Clarice Larry had deserted their family and she had got shot saving him. Then she told her he loved Clarice and Clarice wanted to get him back a humbler, more abject Larry, and said she should tell her now if she didn't love him. Clarice took screaming fits. Larry broke it up. Exit Clarice. He turned on Adrienne to find out what had gone on. Adrienne told him she'd said he loved Clarice but hadn't mentioned she [Adrienne] loved him.

Kathleen tracked Daniel down. She asked him what was up with the armed guards at the Chapin estate. He told her there was art worth much there. She didn't believe him. She told him she'd heard there was to be an operating room and a heliport etc. He changed the subject. She wouldn't let him. He avoided the questions. She asked to be shown around but he can't authorize it. Enter Daphne. She refused. She threw Kathleen out politely. She wants a wickedly high voltage fence but the electrician won't fry anyone.

Sally and Liz discussed Lesoleil Womaning and having a baby. Liz advised her to have a girl. A limousine pulled up looking for Sally bearing Something.

Cass caught Kathleen rummaging through Daphne's purse. She covered nervously. He asked about the purse. She pretended she'd bought it in childish imitation of Daphne. Exit Cass. I don't know what she did.

The Todds want Grant to be present at the naming of the baby.

The Something is an invitation to dinner. Sally will answer later. It's black tie. Catlin hates to get dressed up. Liz advised her to ask him. Sally doesn't think they should refuse.

Felicia and Zane speaking in low voices. "We certainly are getting forward with each other." "downright brazen." long silences. Breathless whispers. The time is right. Damn. Shoot the man. Shoot her.

Kathleen found out from Catlin that Sally had refused Michaud's offer. "well you know I don't think Sally's great ambition in life is to parade around in fancy dresses hawking for a beauty salon." "She could have ADJUSTED!" He suggested Kathleen try for it. She didn't seem to think that was a good idea. [They all wish Larry and Clarice would reconcile]. He bellowed for Larry. Larry came down. I don't know what the hell Kathleen is wearing but it excites comment [not the street corner whistling sort, Rosie the Riveter was one of the epithets employed]. The Ewings are going to try to get a loan for the detectiving.

Quinn's out of town on business. They want to name the child Grant Perry. [Grant must be at death's door.] The Todds are pleased. [They should have named him Felix.]

Daphne can't find her security badge. Kathleen must have stolen it. She is convinced that Michaud is trying to work her so hard she won't notice him pursuing sadly. Daniel scoffs at the idea of Michaud having a roving eye. She's going to live for herself after the night of gold. She might SHOW Michaud and leave him.

DAMN. Felicia and Zane. She's hellishly busy and she has to go. Dinner at her place tonight. DAMN.

Catlin seems to have told Sally the plan and won her approval. He has a line on a loan [I suspect him of having mortgaged the cabin or put up their first born child as collateral. He was cagey about that aspect. Vielleicht ist es Tony Jones.] They are madly in love, or hadn't you noticed? [He should borrow from Zane.] Sally broached the subject of dinner with Michaud and Catlin fell in with it. There may be someone lurking about outside the cabin. Either that or Kathleen at the Chapin estate.

Felicia and Zane [apart] are counting the hours.

Cass and Daphne are still quarreling over budgets. He noticed her not finding her security pass in her purse and commented that he understood that purses like hers were a hot item. She retorted that hers had been custom made. One-of-a-kind. She fled in search of the pass. Cass called Kathleen. She is out leaving no destination.

Kathleen was admitted to the Chapin estate. [In her Rosie the Riveter disguise? What if she runs across the frying fence by mistake? Ouch.]
