ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

September 6, 1985

Kathleen: good morning. MJ: hello. Kathleen: see ya. MJ: where are you going? Kathleen: work. MJ: you can't get to the garage without coffee. Kathleen: see ya. MJ: Kathleen, what are you not telling me? Kathleen: oh, my, working as a detective has made you very suspicious. MJ: did you recite Dorothy Parker did you dance on the table? Kathleen: no. Nothing like that. It's WORSE.

Ada doesn't think Mac and Rachel are taking this seriously enough. She ranted and raved at them. Chris appeared and said he was moving out.

Bridget tried to calm Donna with herbal tea. Donna asked if Victoria had given Bridget any clue as to the name of the town. She says everything is wrong and sometimes she wishes Vic had never come.

Jake read the letter over and thought about carrying Marley off the bus and having her draped about him on the motorcycle. Victoria arrived and he hid the letter. He was not receptive to her kisses. She wants to be alone with him. She thinks they can take their time going home.

MJ: what did you do? Kathleen: nothing. I don't want to talk about it. MJ: OK. Kathleen: guess how long it took me to get ready this morning. MJ: Kathleen are you totally losing it? Kathleen: 5 minutes. How do I look? MJ: fine. Great, great, you look great. Kathleen: Lesoleil. I've been TRANSFORMED. MJ: oh. Kathleen: 5 minutes and I look better than I have in my entire life. MJ: right. Kathleen: I've cut out my whole beauty regimen. Do you know that I am a natural beauty? MJ: oh, and it makes you so happy? Kathleen: do you remember at the Bay City high sophomore mixer? I looked like Fred Gwynn in a dress and I had boys lined up 3 deep to dance with me. MJ: I'm losing the thread here Kathleen: look, last night I looked to kill I was intense and the nicest man that I have ever met, looked like Adonis, walked right out of my life. MJ: who walked out on you, the architect? Kathleen: Daniel. MJ: why? Kathleen: it wasn't my fault. MJ: what did you do? Kathleen: I turned him down. MJ what? Kathleen: he asked me to go home with him and I said no. MJ: and so now it's all over between you two? Kathleen: Yep. MJ: well I say good for you. You don't need to deal with ultimatums Kathleen. No matter how good looking the guy is. Kathleen: he's not just good looking, he is kind he is sensitive, he is intelligent — MJ: SO WHAT? SO WHAT? He gives ULTIMATUMS. Kathleen: no, the ultimatum was not that I go home with him. MJ: what? Kathleen: the ultimatum — he thought — he didn't like that — MJ: Cass. Huh, how did I know that? Kathleen: now look, I'm transformed, I look like a million bucks, right? I still mess everything up because of that [SOMETHING UNINTELLIGIBLE]. The problem is I know that it's not Cass's fault. It's something in ME. I don't even have the fun of getting mad at him. MJ: Kathleen maybe you are transformed. Maybe you just LOVE Cass. Kathleen: no, no. I will not let that be true. Maybe I should get transformed again [in the meantime she poured herself a bowl of cornflakes. Upon finding out there was no milk she took a spoonful and dumped the rest back. I loved the look on MJ's face.] Maybe it would happen from the inside out, outside in, whatever. MJ: did you ever hear of protesting too much? Kathleen: NO NO NO NO NO. MJ: that is FIVE nos. Kathleen: I wouldn't even TALK to him if I didn't NEED him. MJ: Cass? Kathleen: oh — I need you too. Do you know anybody at Interpol? MJ: sure. Kathleen: listen, could you give him a call for me? MJ: Kathleen, Interpol is an international organization funded by the UN, I just work for the Bay City Police Department. Kathleen: can't you at least give them a call? MJ: why? Kathleen: I need the straight goods on somebody. MJ: you sound like Ida Lupino. Who? Kathleen: the name she is USING is Daphne Grimaldi. MJ: OK, you need the straight goods on Daphne Grimaldi. Kathleen: yeah. MJ: anything else? Kathleen: yeah. We are out of milk. 'bye.

Rachel and Mac want to talk to Chris reasonably and clear up this misunderstanding. Ada still wants him to leave. Chris said that nothing had happened or was going to happen last night. He went to get his bags and Rachel lit into Ada for hurting the poor thing. Ada yelled a lot, winding up with "I WILL NOT LET ANYBODY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF NANCY." Enter Nancy. "NOBODY HAS." They told her Chris was moving out. Nancy took fits at Ada, winding up with "I'm still a VIRGIN if that's what's bothering you" as Chris returned. He smiled weakly and retired into a corner with a "hoboy" look on his face. Nancy said "GREAT. Just GREAT."

Adrienne is coming by the McKinnons to see Larry so they can go to prison together. He hasn't spoken to Clarice in a while. MJ disapproves because Larry intends to visit on visiting days as well. She raved at him. She calmed down and left when Adrienne arrived. She's scared. She doesn't think she could get through this without him. Comforting embrace.

Ada apologized to Nancy. Nancy decided to go for a walk. Rachel dragged Ada off to EAT BREAKFAST. Mac asked Chris to stay. Chris told him someone had searched his room last night.

Bridget comforted Donna. Enter Marley.

Mac's going to have a chat with security. He suspects Carl. Chris will stay. Enter Nancy. Exit Mac. Nancy told Chris she didn't want him to go. He said he wasn't going to go.

Donna fell on Marley's neck. Marley said "hi, Bridget." Donna asked about Victoria. Marley told her not to worry. Donna is full of concern for Victoria. She demanded to know where Victoria is. Bridget was listening to the best of her ability but the phone rang and Donna yelled at her to answer it so she had to leave her post before hearing whether Marley told.

Victoria was her usual self. Jake told her to lay off in a very loud voice. She said that she missed him and was rewarded with stony silence. "Isn't this the perfect time to say "I missed you too"?" He said he had. She said she wanted things to revert to the way they had been; he said too much had happened. He told her Marley had held her own with Ned. "Yeah, I'll bet she did. That Marley, she is no pushover... and those still waters, they run deep. Yeah, good old Marley, she usually gets what she wants... DID SHE WANT YOU?" He told her he hadn't slept with Marley. She told him she'd told Donna just about everything, leaving out him and Bridget. He hopes it hasn't ruined her chances. He was very kind. She apologized for the way she's been acting. She made suggestions. He said not now. She found Marley's letter and read it.

Adrienne doesn't want anyone to know how scared she is. Catlin called to tell Larry they had a job and an appointment. Larry was not enthusiastic [Catlin noticed] and neglected to mention what he'd be doing in the meantime, i.e. taking wicked women to prison. Further comforting embrace.

Nancy is mortified. She promised Chris she wouldn't take any more pills.

Victoria destroyed the letter. Jake told her nothing had happened but she seems to think just madly lusting after one another is reprehensible enough. He didn't say he didn't love Marley but he said she didn't him. Then Jake of the biting wit had a tremendously long loud stinging speech interspersed with "don't look at me like that"S. He accused her of just wanting to get mad. She got upset and begged him not to be mad with her. She told him Marley was right and they did belong together. He doesn't know. She thinks they have to get reacquainted. She's sorry. He's sorry.

Nancy promised to avoid the preppies like the plague. Chris wants her to get professional help. She doesn't want Ada to find out. She hates herself for last night. He doesn't hate her. She'll do it. She doesn't want him to leave. He has to eventually though. Comforting embrace.

Kathleen wants Sally's opinion of Daphne. All she could get out of her was "I think she's incredibly beautiful" until Kathleen assured her it was off the record. "I do think she's incredibly beautiful... and very secretive, and I swear I think she's just the weirdest, strangest woman I've ever met." "I THINK SO TOO" said Kathleen. Twin souls! Sally called a halt to the cat session. She doesn't think she should, having to work with her. Kathleen: all right, all right, but if you ever want to dish her let me know. She looked at Rachel's sketches and thought they looked Egyptian. Sally agreed. Enter Aunt Liz raving at the top of her lungs about not being allowed to see Sally because of secretaries. Kathleen left at a HINT. Liz is eager to take Sally home to the cabin. Sally has work to do. Liz: they were together ALL NIGHT. Sally: they were not, they were together at the gala. I was with Catlin last night. Liz: I don't trust Brittany Peterson. Sally: you DON'T? Oh, I never would have guessed that, Aunt Liz. Sally refuses to take this seriously. She thinks she can manage her job and Catlin. Aunt Liz advised her to chuck it if it got in the way of Catlin, Kevin, and her health. Sally still can't leave. "you HAVE to come home to Catlin." "NO." [Poor Sally is going to laugh herself to death, I can tell. Even if she does go home he's probably on his way to the meeting ANYWAY.]

Ada apologized to Nancy. Nancy apologized too. She said last night had been her fault, not Chris'. Ada promised to let him alone. Nancy said she'd try not to act so weird anymore. They love each other, not that it solves anything. Nancy thinks Ada should talk to Chris. She wants them all to have lunch together.

Rachel's figured out Mac and Chris' secret. She and Mac wonder what Carl wants.

Chris advised Nancy to keep her Egyptian ring safe. "oh, give me a break, like it won't be safe here on my hand? It's like Ringo Starr in Help, 'soda machines will steal me hand.'" He gave in. She thanked him for everything. Chaste kiss.

Larry kissed Adrienne full on the mouth before they locked her up.

Marley told Bridget she'd seen the place where Victoria grew up and met the man Victoria was in love with. Bridget asked her to tell her where Victoria was because Donna had been asking.

Jake: Are you ready? Victoria: for what, fun and games, a night on the town? Jake: to see the sheriff. Vic: you're not as much fun as you used to be. He advised her to get a lawyer. There came a rapping at the door. Victoria answered. Donna threw herself on her neck. Victoria: DONNA, what are YOU doing here? Donna: I have a better question—what is HE doing here?

C'est tout.
