ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

September 4, 1985

Wallingford wandered past with a personable blonde. Cass danced with Felicia.

Peter and Britt are still getting along swimmingly, although she seems rather drunk. He's aware she's waiting for someone. She admitted she was looking out for Catlin.

Felicia: so, where is your date? Cass: bite your tongue, Felicia. The only reason I agreed to escort Donna is because I thought it would entitle me for special consideration from St Peter. Felicia: Oh, Cass. The butterflies in my stomach are starting to have babies. Cass: you're worried about your speech. Felicia: Oh, no, I'm not worried, I'm petrified. Cass: honey, you'll be fine. Felicia: do you think -- do you think maybe I should start by saying "good evening ladies and gentlemen" or maybe – "to my friends". Is that better? Cass: look, I think we'd better move away from here because the dragon lady will spot me. Felicia: Oh yeah. She's in some rare form tonight, insufferable SNOB. Cass: who's that? Felicia: Donna Love, your date. Cass: no no no, who's that? (gesturing in the direction of some female with her back to them, obviously Kathleen with a haircut.) Felicia: Oh, that. you haven't met her? Cass: no, but as director of Lesoleil I think it's only proper . . . Felicia fled and he approached said female and introduced himself.

Terry got into the Love house but was forced to hide when Jake called and told Bridget they were in trouble. He has to get Victoria because Marley intends to go to court for her. She gave him the number at the party. Marley emerged from the Sheriff's Office and said some strange things to him, winding up with I don't need you, Jake.

Kathleen turned around and Cass was impressed. Daniel is her escort. Cass asked her to dance. ("I've Got You Under My Skin" is the music.) Daniel looked on.

Donna told Victoria off for speaking to Carl. Donna: he is a criminal. Victoria: well at least he listens to me which is more than I can say for Ronald. Donna: Speaking of Ronald where is he? Vic: who cares? Peter wandered up and Donna told him to dance with Victoria. He died her hair dubiously but said sure. Vic said he needn't but Donna insisted. Donna: in the meantime I'll go see if I can find Ronald. Vic: well I don't care if he never shows up. Donna rushed off and threw herself at Daniel making vaguely obscene remarks about the Lesoleil Tower. He looked over at Kathleen and Cass and asked her to dance.

Cass is filled with admiration. They discussed their investigation. He's concerned about Daphne's Egyptian obsession. Kathleen dismisses Daphne with an airy wave of her hand and asks about the clinic , regarding which Cass is beautifully unsuspicious.

Edouard is watching Felicia through the mirror. He is overcome. She's still the same only more so. He thanked Michaud who can't wait for Edouard to show himself to Felicia.

Felicia afraid she'll break down talking about Edouard. Zane is encouraging. Felicia made a bit of her speech and did break down. Daphne looked like she wanted to kick her. Michaud was sympathetic. Felicia revived and spoke about Edouard enthusiastically.

Catlin arrived with a spot of grease on his shirt. Liz was relieved to see he'd made it in time for Sally's speech. Brittany dashed up. Liz kept saying things about Sally but they ignored her. A man wandered past and asked Britt to dance. She said she was all danced out but a moment later offered to dance in front of Catlin's grease spot. "But you just turned that guy down." "But I won't turn you down cowboy." He gave in.

Michaud and Daphne quarrelled about his giving Britt such an expensive gown and her inviting Carl. She denies inviting Carl.

Terry shoved some things in a bag and fled precipitately as Bridget appeared to investigate.

Victoria: that Daniel is some kind of hunk. Donna:. I don't like that word. Vic: why not? Donna: because it sounds like you're talking about a piece of MEAT. Victoria: I am. Enter Chris in search of Nancy. Donna said she was sure he'd want to dance with Victoria (with Victoria making faces at him the whole while of the HEAVEN GRANT ME PATIENCE variety). He did so.

Nancy observed Chris dancing with Victoria and took a pill and drank champagne. Chris came out and she kissed him. He suspected. She got upset and joined the preppies.

Jake called and told Victoria about Marley. She told him she missed him. He told her she couldn't let Marley go to jail for her. She gave in.

Michaud announced the Lesoleil woman. Sally appeared with her hair kinked in a dress with rectangles of shiny bits on it. (I don't know why but I'd been expecting a gold lamé voluminous gown with hugely puffed sleeves.) She said to hell with the speech and instead told them how thrilled she was to be there and how important her family was and how much she loved them. Catlin looked at her and nothing else. Wild applause. Catlin continued looking at Sally and Brittany looked at him.

Victoria told Donna a friend in her hometown was dying and she had to flock to her side. Donna was aghast and said she couldn't leave the most important event going for a mere deathbed. Vic gave in but when Donna went to mingle Victoria rushed home.

Jake told Marley he loved her and he'd called Victoria and she take care of everything. They fought. He won't risk her being hurt.

The preppies are stoned and silly. Chris dragged Nancy away. Ron tried to tell him to mind his own business. Chris lectured him on drugs and said he'd like to help. Ron took a swing at him and fell into the pool. Chris took Nancy home.

Sally chatted with the press and asked after Catlin. When no concrete information was forthcoming she insisted on all the Lesoleil people being photographed as well. Catlin appeared on the sidelines and watched as Michaud kissed Sally's cheek. He melted away again. Michaud got rid of the photographers. Catlin came back and Sally pounced on him. Catlin wants to dance with her. Michaud reminded Sally she had an interview in a few minutes but Catlin's determined. The Ewings wandered off leaving Michaud looking after them, rather displeased.

A sudden unholy shriek of laughter but I can't remember why. Michaud went to see his father. Edouard is still brooding about Zane. Michaud said it was nothing. Edouard said it wasn't nothing but chirked up and said he'd win her back. He wants to go to his room now. Michaud shoved him into his opera cape and opened the door and there stood Felicia. Monsieur hid behind the door while Michaud got rid of her. She'll save him [Michaud] a dance. He got his father out, neglecting to lock the door. Cass and Kathleen saw an opera cape vanishing into the blue and argued about whether he'd come out of the door or not. Cass on the strength of having tried it earlier claimed it was locked. Kathleen insisted it wasn't and to prove her point opened it. They went in and found it empty. They observed the mirror. Curiouser and curiouser.

Victoria snapped at Bridget's mother hen ways. Bridget accused her of being jealous. Victoria said she wouldn't let him go. Bridget advised her to remember Jake loved her and he'd remember it when she got there. Vic's going to fly out there. Bridget loves her. Vic has to figure out what to tell Donna. She refuses to lose Donna or Jake.

Chris got Nancy into the Corys'. She's silly and he's stern and eager to feed her. She wants only to kiss him. She put on music to dance. He went to get food. She began disrobing (and I hear my voice in the background saying Nancy you are weird you're dead weird I mean you're one of the weirdest people I know.)

Victoria (in a denim rhinestone-studded vest) dragged Donna out of the party to confess.

Marley watching Jake sleep. it's over she told his prostrate form.

Nancy's music is Private Dancer. Chris returned bearing a tray of food and found her clothes strewn about the room. She appeared in the French window. "THERE you are. I knew you'd be surprised."

Rachel likes sculpting.

Catlin danced with Sally ("call me irresponsible call me unreliable it's all undeniably true 'cos I'm irresponsibly mad over you") and told her how wonderful it was that she'd trashed her speech and been herself. She said she'd meant it. He said he knew. He crawled all over her neck and Michaud looked on disapprovingly. Britt dashed up to Michaud and asked if husbands were invited to the press conference (she still seems rather drunk). He said Catlin COULD come but on the other hand perhaps it would be better if Sally were not distracted. (Catlin does his best to be distracting.) Britt offered to make sure Catlin didn't want to go up with Sally. Michelle said Sally would be stepping into a different world and things would change. Michaud dragged Sally away from Catlin. Sally wanted him to come but Michaud smoothly said it was a question of space (looking as if he meant a husband of standard dimensions could come and welcome.) Sally was reluctant but he encouraged her and said he had other people to talk too. As Michaud propelled Sally away he looked unthrilled.
