ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

December 3, 1986

The police cruised by the McKinnons' to question Vince.

Reginald bore up bravely. Mary arrived.

Adam leered at MJ most horribly when she returned from the Pig Whistle. She threatened to pour coffee in his lap. He told her about the knife throwing incident and Vince's possible involvement. MJ got upset and declared it a setup. She was not pleased with Adam's silence. He feebly muttered about evidence.

Cheryl and Cass and Kathleen would say only that Vince was not in. The police produced a search warrant. Kathleen protested. Cass examined it and said they had no choice. The McKinnons plotted to warn Pops. They sent Cheryl to Mary's Place and told her to phone MJ.

Mary refused to believe that Vince had done anything so horrible. Reginald put on a big show about not blaming Vince until all the evidence was in. He told her he needed her. She didn't appreciate it. He pled. She refused to stay. He told her his life was empty without her. She told him very firmly that that was not fair. He said he only wanted her to be happy. It was disgusting. Peter appeared and busted it up. Mary left promising to call soon. Reginald yelled at Peter for his timing.

Brittany demanded details. She asked Catlin when he had first realized he loved her. He said it had crept up on him and the baby had helped. [Brittany is probably aware by now that wife-with-small-son holds an attraction for Catlin. I think this love has to be a combination of guilt and paternal feelings.] He assured her he [and Zack in some minor capacity, natch] would get her off. She asked him to kiss her between the middle bars. He did.

Julie gave Zack a pep talk. His case is not good.

Cheryl met up with MJ and Adam at Mary's Place. MJ assured her there was nothing to worry about. They conspired to prevent Vince from going home. MJ and Adam headed for the house. Scott appeared, stunned by the information that Vince had tried to kill his father.

Reginald told Peter what a jerk he was, with regard to Brittany especially. Peter suggested dropping the charges against Brittany. Reginald vetoed that.

Catlin told Brittany as soon as she got off they could be a family on a ranch far away. He kissed her again.

Vince wasn't at home. The police found a bunch of clothes in an odd spot. They appropriated them. Kathleen freaked out. Adam reasoned with her.

Zack warned Peggy against failing to provide all of her evidence. She was not ruffled. She rushed off to see Peter.

Reginald is extremely pleased with the results of the impostor plot. Victoria was a bonus. Scott dropped by to be solicitous.

The McKinnons couldn't find Vince. He arrived home. MJ asked where he'd been between 6:00 and 7:00 PM last night. He insisted it was a setup and he hadn't been anywhere near the Love mansion. MJ told him he had to go downtown. He gave in.

Regional said deep things about having come so close to death. He has some regrets. Scott asked if he believed Vince was guilty. Reginald pointed out that it wasn't his idea but the police department's. He reminisced about those wonderful carefree days at the Hacienda. He wants to be a family with Mary and Scott again.

Zack is afraid of ruining Brittany's life because Peggy is a Yalie. Catlin and Julie told him not to give up. Brittany summoned him.

Peter told Peggy he wanted to drop the charges in order to avoid scandal. She got upset and refused. She told him it could be worse if he withdrew charges. She stomped out.

Vince had no alibi. No one was with him. He said he'd phoned Maisie though. MJ was summoned to the Pig Whistle.

Brittany told Zack she wanted to confess everything. He was terrified.

Reginald told Victoria they were at war with the McKinnons.

Vince went with the police to Mary's Place and asked Maisie to tell them he'd phoned her last night. She said he had. She had no proof he was phoning from home, however. Samuels produced the jacket and shoes. Vince said he'd been looking for them for a week. Samuel said they matched the fibers and footprints found around the Love mansion. He produced Vince's knife [covered in Vince's fingerprints] and asked about it. Maisie said too loudly that it was only a knife and it could be anyone's. Vince admitted it was his. [Maisie is a dope.] Cheryl insisted Vince hadn't done it. Mary chafed. Samuels tried to get Vince to admit to something.
