ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

December 12, 1986

Dream. Adam: what's wrong? MJ: me. Adam, I'm wrong for you. Adam: why don't you let me be the judge of that? MJ: you need somebody — Adam: I need you. I want you, MJ. You're WONDERFUL. [kissing. The mocking laughter of the sugar daddy filled the air.] what's wrong? MJ: can't you hear that? Adam: hear what? [kissing] MJ: that laughing. Sugar daddy: I wouldn't say you're wonderful. With you, baby, I'd say you're OK. For what you are. MJ awakened sobbing and breathing heavily. She told herself firmly it was in the past. She phoned Adam and instantly apologized for calling so early. She asked if they could start over.

The stable was flooded with trees. Enter Gomez. Michael told her she was just the witch he wanted to see.

Reginald stopped by Mary's Place to talk to Mary.

Brittany pled with Catlin to testify. He didn't like it. Zack asked if he would rather cooperate or rot. Catlin said the DA would make him look bad. Zack told him it would look worse if he refused to testify and he would make his testimony come out right [or at least even] in his cross examination. Catlin was sceptical. Zack told him being contemptible [? Contemporary? Contemptuous?] wasn't helping any. Catlin said he couldn't testify against Brittany because he loved her. [how can someone have testimony which demonstrates her guilt and believe she's innocent at the same time? ["all right, Mr Cudair [is there supposed to be an H in there somewhere?] but I don't see how a bride can be new and experienced at the same time."]] Me, too she said. Jamie was thrilled.

Adam was confused. MJ said things about not having been receptive. He said she'd had her moments. She said she liked him a lot. It's mutual. She said she was grateful to him and brimming with gratitude as she is she wants to plan them a Nice Day for his day off. He was pleased. She said she'd be over as soon as possible and told him not to move an inch. He was delighted to hear that, since he was in bed at the time. He was only too willing to oblige.

Nicole: Michael, this isn't going to accomplish anything. Michael: oh, yeah? How about the warm inner glow I'd get if I punched her lights out? He yelled at Gomez for medicating Donna into oblivion. Gomez denied all knowledge. Michael swore he'd get her. Exit Gomez. He called someone in charge of tailing the conehead. He's in a wildly good mood suddenly. He organized the tree decorating.

Cheryl and Reginald are not best friends. Mary told her she'd handle it. Cheryl retreated with Scott. Reginald assumed an expression meant to convey patient suffering. Mary was terribly sympathetic about the knife wound. He was Very Brave. Cheryl found this disgusting.

Victoria stormed out when Michael tried to tell her how horrible Reginald was. Michael can't see why she can't understand how horrible Reginald is. Nicole said he couldn't expect her to. Michael said he wanted to pick her brain.

Jamie examined Brittany. She told him Catlin loved her. He advised her to convince him to testify. Zack and Jamie left Catlin alone with her. Brittany persuaded Catlin that if he testified truthfully it couldn't hurt her. He relented.

Reginald begged Mary to let him take care of her. She told him she wanted to be on her own. She intends to get a job. Ada hovered around. Enter MJ. She accused Reginald of having set Vince up and warned him that Vince might decide he had nothing to lose by actually killing him.

Peggy called Catlin. He was sworn in properly. She got him to describe the pitchfork thing. Catlin kept trying to shove in statements about Brittany's fear of Peter motivating her threats and [although he was forced to admit that Peter had not been armed] burst out with the fact that Peter had wanted to kill Brittany ever since he'd found out that Peter Reginald was his [Catlin's] son. Order. Order. Zack was actually pleased with this, since he figured it gave Peter a motive. Zack cross examined and showed that Brittany had been holding Peter at bay, and that since she had yelled for Michael it wasn't likely that she had intended to kill Peter. [he contended that a murderous person wouldn't want a witness. It was also mighty odd of her to phone Rachel and announced her intention, of course.] the court recessed. Zack intends to call Jamie to dwell on this paternity thing.

Reginald asked Mary for Christmas dinner.

Cheryl told MJ off for upsetting Mary. She said she wanted Mary for Christmas Day. The phone rang. MJ: MARY'S PLACE. Adam: where ARE you? MJ: you know where I am. You CALLED me. Adam : from the sound of your voice I'm glad I did. MJ: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I will be in a GREAT mood by the time I get to your house. Adam: promise? MJ absolutely. Why did you call? Adam : um — I can't remember. MJ: come on. Adam: I'm not thinking too straight this morning. MJ: maybe somebody woke you up too early. Adam: or maybe i'm in love. MJ: maybe. I'll be right over. Don't move. Adam laughed. MJ collected up a bunch of food and left. Ada told Cheryl she thought she might have to interfere.

Michael asked Nicole why Reginald had singled her [Donna] out for the cruel treatment. She said Donna and Mother Love had been close. Michael trotted off to talk to Dr Bowden. He doesn't trust him.

Victoria cruised past Mary's Place . Reginald with Mary failed to thrill her. She freaked out at Mary when he'd left for killing her grand father. Jamie restrained her. He gave her food, assuring her that Ada wouldn't poison anyone, even her. He accused her of not having any fun. She said the fact that Reginald was her grandfather proved she did. [vegetables have never been known for being the life of the party, but, hey.] they have galas and things. He asked if she had dates. She was forced to admit she hadn't. He asked her out.

Scott returned, having investigated Vince's alleged bus. Cheryl appreciated it even though he hadn't been successful. She said she'd been looking for her ring. He said he'd join the search and promised he'd find it.

O sole mio. O sole mio.. It is our resident foreign language fanatic-cum-songster, Adam. He seems to have been showering. He's in a killing green bathrobe and leaping around. He threw off the bathrobe [revealing a pair of navy blue and white striped boxers. How nice] and leaped into bed, and then made certain the door was off the latch so the approaching MJ could enter. [his bed is a foldout sofa. This is nicer than Chris Chapin's futon, even.] she was taken aback when she put down her bags and perceived him in bed without a shirt. It is hard to explain his demeanour. He was guileless, guileful, and beguiling, all at once. He told her he had remained in bed so as not to move. MJ: Gee, that's an awfully big bed. Adam: yeah. [I can tell he regrets it tremendously.] particularly when you're all alone. MJ: maybe we should do something to remedy that. Adam: well I'll bet you could think of something. I know you're very — clever. MJ: how's this? [sitting down on the far edge with her back to him.] feel any less lonely? Adam: yeah. [he leaned over [exposing a vast expanse of naked flesh] and kissed her.] MJ: happy day off.

Catlin and Brittany stood around being in love. They're surprised Peggy didn't have the paternity thing stricken from the record. [I hope she has a plan. Serve them right.] they think Zack's better. [they are wrong. Trust me.] Zack appeared and told Catlin things were unrecessed and he was to go back on the stand.

Jamie wished Victoria luck on the stand and left.

Ada lured Mary into the kitchen for an offer she couldn't refuse. They found Scott and Cheryl trying to get her ring out of the drain in the sink. Scott asked her for a wrench. [I liked the way she took his wrist and placed it in his palm.] He refused to let them call a plumber. Disgusting brown water sloshed out over his face.

Michael went looking for Dr Bowden in a dark room and got coshed for his trouble.

Catlin told his Peter and the rattlesnake box story. Peggy got him to admit he hadn't seen the snake come out of the box, and anyway she said a rattlesnake wouldn't be a reliable method of murder. She asked about Brittany's wearing a real gun and suggested that they had plotted against Peter. Zack objected. The Hon. Leonard L Finch sustained his subjection. Catlin was forced to admit that he hadn't seen Peter threatened Brittany but said Peter wouldn't do anything in front of him. He denied drawing conclusions based on his feelings for the defendant, although he maintained that Peter had threatened Brittany constantly and blamed the rattlesnake on him. He launched into a tirade about having had a child with Brittany. The judge told him he was flirting with contempt. Catlin said he'd been married to Brittany long before she'd ever met Peter and this wouldn't have happened if they'd still been married and he wanted her to marry him again because he loved her. Sensation. The Hon told Brittany [who was gazing rapturously at the witness] to give Catlin an answer so they could proceed. [I have never seen Catlin behave with such stupidity. It's bad enough that he loves her, but this love has rotted his brain is too much.]
