ANOTHER WORLD DAILY SYNOPSIS.

August 12, 1985

Donna told Victoria the Michaud dinner had been a fiasco. Victoria was soothing and wildly helpful. WHERE ARE YOU, JAKE?

Jake continued riding alongside the bus. Marley was thrilled to death. The bus stopped.

Sally told Clarice she'd seen Larry and she's sure both husbands are working undercover and something awful has happened to Catlin.

Catlin and Jimmy and Brittany lying about in the motel room (one died, one survived, two divorced, two beheaded). Catlin came to and said "Brittany" several thousand times. He's concerned (to put it mildly). He called an ambulance. He soothed her and said he couldn't lose her again "dear god don't let it be too late." She murmured his name much to his relief. He reassured her.

Jake and Marley engaged in gay banter. Idle chitchat. She insisted she wanted to go to Lassiter and him to come with her. He refused. She asked why. He said it was the pits and suggested other cities (New Orleans, San Francisco, Las Vegas). She's determined to go to Lassiter. He suggested they play another game of pinball. "You're not that good." "My flipper reflex was rusty."

Nancy is Rita, nighttime candy striper. Chris offered to let her be his sidekick. "You and I, we're going to make beautiful medicine together." She accepted.

Michaud told Daphne Donna's dinner had been a farce. Great fun. She said she hoped he didn't do anything silly. He said he'd left that to Donna. He told her about her liaison idea. Daphne says she's important to them (she needs pieces for her mystery). They argued about their respective fantasies (he intends to enrich the lives of Sally and Felicia).

They're going to rehabilitate Dale. She's scared. Chris is reassuring. (Nancy is listening, bolstering up his pitch.) Dale feels better. Exit Dale. Chris and Nancy intend to go to Smiley's soon. She complimented him on his great Dale dealings.

No pinball game at this stop. He [Jake] sent her [Marley] to get him a drink. He called Victoria. He told her Marley was recalcitrant. The only thing she [Victoria] thought of was to tell Marley just enough of the truth to get her to come home. He refused. He'll think of something else. She'll wait for his next call in his room. Marley returned. He told her he'd been talking to his friend with the farm and they could spend the night there. She said it was in the wrong direction. I think she got back on the bus.

They took Britt to the hospital. Larry & MJ asked what happened. Catlin is wildly upset because he arrived a mere ten seconds too late to save a life. No one knows anything about the injected drug. Catlin rushed to the hospital (ignoring his cut head in spite of MJ's warning) after Brittany and told them to call Sally to have her meet him there. (Larry doesn't seem to think folk should waste time calling wives.)

Daphne called Donna and expressed interest in her as social liaison. She wants to come right over. Michaud told her [Daphne] it was absurd. She said if he loved her he'd let her. That got him.

Donna tried to salvage the canapes. Victoria took over capably and let her change.

Marley and Jake continued arguing on the move. He told her Victoria was wildly serious about not going. Marley said she was sorry she had to go. He pursued her on the bike.

Sally's worried. She was reunited with Catlin at the hospital. He promised fervently that nothing like this would ever come between them again. She loves him and he loves her. Kissing, natch. Enter Brittany however and Catlin immediately assured her he was right there. She said "I love you, baby. I love you. I'll always be yours." Of course she's NOT WELL but that doesn't make Sally feel any better (ouch). Catlin explained to her that Brittany was only involved because of Willa, not because they rest of them wanted her. "How INVOLVED did you two get, Catlin?" Catlin: It was nothing like that. You have to believe me. Sally: I know you'd only do what's right [said stiffly; pause]. Now let's get your head taken care of. No arguments. Catlin: You're the one I love. I've always loved you. Kissing.

Larry and Dale got on swimmingly. She said he'd been right to begin with. Exit Dale. Clarice told Larry the children missed him. He agreed to see them but he has to check on something first.

Donn and Daphne got on swimmingly. Daphne refused a canape and told Donna a lot of lies about Michaud's impressions of Donna and complimented her father's priceless antiques lavishly. She wants to buy.

Larry asked Joyce about Adrienne. She's in surgery. It's not good. Larry told Clarice he couldn't go home right away. He went to talk to the captain. Clarice tolde MJ he didn't want to come home. MJ assured her he did. She wants to know about whom he's asking at the nurse's station.

Nancy was abstracted. Chris was concerned. They discussed Dale's drugginess. He told her synthetic drugs WERE addictive. As bad as real ones. He explained the ring and the Plains Motel and specified ecstasy as a killer drug. She changed the subject. He thinks she's the best. She showed him Perry's ring. He said his father had given him a pendant with the same design.

Donna bargained with Daphne vaguely insisting she wouldn't part with the box.

Jake stopped the bus and raved at Marley about CARING about her and bugged her to come with him. She refused to change her mind.

Larry's going back to work tomorrow. The drug bust was a wild success. MJ said the personal losses were great. She lost Jamie. She advised him not to lose Clarice.

Donna was swayed at the mention of $5000.

Marley insisted. Jake said he'd take her. The passengers applauded.

Brittany's heroics made the news and mentioned [her] as former wife of Catlin Ewing Sally's husband. Michaud decided to get to know her. (Lesoleil Woman?)

Joyce told Clarice about Adrienne taking a bullet for Larry. Larry said he'd go home with Clarice now but when Joyce told him Adrienne wasn't good he wouldn't leave and Clarice got mad and hurt.

Marley was bid goodbye. She's a popular traveller. She giggled wildly. Jake gave her a crash helmet. She's never ridden a motorcycle. Off we go.
