Verify your Dial-up Connection Settings for Windows XP
Use this information to verify that you have the correct settings for your NCF dialup connections.
Show all connections
If you don't see "Connect To" in the Start menu, the choose
and click on
your NCF connection icon and left-click Properties.
tab, ensure that you have the correct phone number (613-520-1135 or 613-271-9768).
This image shows "Modem - Unavailable device" -- your modem should be shown there.
If your phone line is pulse, not touch tone, or if you want to disable call-waiting, you may want to select "Use dialing rules" and edit your location accordingly.
tab, ensure that "Include Windows logon domain" is NOT checked. You can set your redialing options to your preference.
tab, highlight "Internet Protocol" and click Properties.
Ensure that your IP address and DNS server addresses are to be obtained automatically. Click OK.
tab, for your security you should enable the Internet Connection Firewall (available on Windows XP service pack 2). Click OK.
