To facilitate this review, the following report provides an inventory of the existing volunteer committee and team structure. A. Committees of the Board: 1. Additional discussion among the team is carried out by email throughout the year, with financial reports typically reviewed by the entire Board at their monthly meeting. 2. Natalie Munro is Board liaison. Michael DiCola a recent addition to the CRC, essentially to replace Simon Coakley, who is unable to commit the necessary time required for full-time participation. Mr. Coakley however, remain on the committee and when called upon for advice or opinion will provide it on request. B. Operations Teams 1. The IM Team provides on-line support for Ips, answering questions in the IP forum, maintains instructional documents and the list of volunteers menu maintainers, as well as encouraging and nurturing non-IMT volunteers to participate in the care and parenting of menus on NCF. 6. The group is responsible for developing a coherent "look and feel" for all pages that lead off the home page, and documenting it as the NCF Style Guide for Web pages. The Web Team is also responsible for the creation and maintenance of an exciting new community content project "CapitalFind", an index of organizations, businesses, shops, restaurants, services, events and interesting sites in and around Ottawa. Category pages are "adopted" by members who volunteer to research the topic and keep the information up-to-date. Recently however, the team looks after minutes only for Board meetings. 8. The team maintained Information, FAQs etc. and coordinated maintenance of an exclusive NCF blacklist of Spam domains to be filtered by our email software. The team activity seemed to have sputtered out recently and we now filter mail through software which queries a blacklist called "RBL" (Realtime Blackhole List) which is maintained by The MAPS (Mail Abuse Protection System). 9. Speakers Coordination Team ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ menu: go speaker no web page al419 Thomas Wilson The Speakers Coordination Team at present is effectively inactive. The team was founded to coordinate the Help Desk Live sessions previously held regularly at the Ottawa Public Library and the Nepean Library. The team also responded to requests from the public for NCF presentations or demonstrations and coordinated and represented NCF at various public events held in the area. 13. The goal originally was to eventually have all menus, help and instruction files, and description files for all discussion groups available in both official languages. Recently however, the Team has preferred to work in a more "unstructured" way, not as a committee, but as individual volunteers translating documents as required from time-to-time. 16.
