Why does NCF's work matter?

In this day and age, access to the Internet is part of everyone's life. It is no longer a nice-to-have, it is equivalent to a utility, such as water and electricity. This is evident in the news coverage of internet outages, which by far surpasses coverage of other things like water supply outages.

The global pandemic further highlighted the necessity of having reliable, consistent, secure and affordable internet access for everyone, as our lives had to transition to the virtual world, from online work meetings to online classes and virtual schooling for our kids. NCF believes that everyone in Canada's National Capital Region should have access to the internet, meaning they can afford a high-quality connection, understand how to use it, and feel safe online.

How do you plan to use your skills to further NCF in its mission?

As a member-driven not-for-profit organization and social enterprise, NCF operates with a commitment to people over profits. As such, NCF invests in bandwidth and community services, keeping prices as low as it can while staying sustainable. This requires a high degree of operational excellence to ensure lean operations providing excellent services to its members while at the same time reducing costs, snd performing at optimal efficiency.

As a current Chief Operating Officer at a global High Tech organization with over 12 years of progressive executive and senior management roles leading global Operations and Customer Support organizations, I have, throughout my career, honed my skills in starting up, overhauling, and restructuring Operations, Customer Support and Professional Services organizations at High Tech companies while controlling costs, to increase efficiency, and scale for growth.

I intend to use my professional experience and skills to help NCF provide its members with the best services, while controlling costs to ensure low prices while remaining sustainable.
