David Hudson - Candidate

What skills will you contribute to the NCF Board?

I am happy to help out where I'm needed but I can suggest that I can help out in the following ways. First, I have strong organizational abilities. Second, I know generally how to use technology to create value and specifically understand internet service provider operations and systems. Third, I have considerable experience in oversight positions and in serving on boards, including not for profit boards.

What are the most important functions of the NCF for its members?

NCF provides an important resource to the region. Even though the Internet is really not that old, it is difficult to imagine how we would learn, play or work without the Internet. Consequently, people need access to the Internet and need options for that access. Our community benefits from having an ISP that has community building and social good as primary goals. So I believe in an NCF delivers value to its stakeholders in the community and I believe in an NCF that operates effectively in social, financial and ethical terms.

Why do you want to be an NCF director?

I wish to contribute back to the region that has provided me with such a high quality of life. I have done that by being part of other community organizations and feel that I can contribute to the NCF. Fundamentally, I'd like the national capital region to become even more attractive to people who want to build families, careers and businesses and the NCF contributes to that objective.
