Just over a year ago, I was asked if I would be willing to put my name on the candidate's list for election to the Board of Directors of NCF. I agreed and was elected to a one-year term at the 2002 AGM. I've enjoyed my experience on the Board and learned lots about NCF and its members. Again, I am asking for your support for another term.
A little about myself .. I was born in Ottawa and have lived here all my life. My experience has been primarily "on the job" and I enjoy learning with the challenges it brings. For over 20 years my career has been in education, with a focus on technology, beginning at Carleton University, and now at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. I have also worked for the Federal Government and as a consultant in private industry.
What skills will you contribute to the NCF Board?
My project management skills, administrative capabilities, team management and interpersonal skills, as well as technology training and support experiences are what I'm willing to contribute to NCF.
What do you think are the most important functions of NCF for its members?
To provide reliable, inexpensive dial-up access to the Internet that encourages an electronic community, free from advertising, in the Ottawa Region.
Why do you want to be an NCF director?
To continue to help NCF meet their goals and to contribute to this online community.
