Human Resources Annual Report - 2000 Chair: Seline Herz-Fischler Members: Graeme Beckett Miranda Gray Jean Wilmot Background: The HRC was formed in response to concerns over the performance of Executive Director. Description of the Committee: The Human Resources Committee (HRC) was responsible for keeping communication active between the Board of Directors and the Executive Director. As well, the HRC was responsible for ensuring that the decisions of the Board of Directors were the focus of the staff. Activities of the Committee: The HRC met monthly with the Executive Director. Each meeting included status reports, project updates, and goals for the upcoming months. Timelines and guidelines were given to the ED to ensure that the Board of Directors vision was met, as well as ensuring the efficient operation of Freenet activities, especially the technical aspects such as modem operations. Status of the Committee: The responsibilities of the HRC changed when the contract of the Executive Director (ED) was terminated in November. A decision to search for a new ED was made in December. The HRC is currently inactive. The President, Graeme Beckett, is currently acting as liaison between Staff and the Board of Directors. The HRC will not be reactivated unless it is requested by the new ED or by the Board of Directors.
