Mandate
-------
This team writes and maintains all documents in the FreePlace
menu tree, including PPP protocol, FreeMail, NNTP news, FreePages, 
and FreeWeb (Internet Sampler).

In addition, the team works to develop documentation for new 
applications offered to members by NCF.                                                
    
There are few of the original members of the team who are still active 
as most of the development work has been completed and ongoing work is
adding new services and updating existing files when system changes are 
made.


Documentation Team work
-----------------------

-testing and documenting FreePlan web services and Internet software 
 (ongoing)
-updating FreePlace (ongoing).
-answer questions in the Help Desk about PPP connections and Web services.
-Coordinating with the Help Desk (both chairs are on each others team).
-Created PPP area for the Public Download Area.
-Created the NCF Web Directory for navigating NCF information, Web services, 
searching and help.  (http://www.ncf.ca/ip/freeplan/sites.html)
-Wrote an article for "The Info" newsletter for Information  Providers.

About 65 files have been added to FreePlace since October 1996.
The NCF Web Directory (http://www.ncf.ca/ip/freeplace/sites.html)
is the only web page.

NCF Home Page Contest
---------------------
Coordinated the contest team (3 staff, 2 volunteers), 12 entrants, 
and 5 judges.  This spanned November 1997 to February 1998.


Miscellaneous
-------------
-created new directory for Linux software in the PDA for the PDA 
maintainer who does not have shell access.
-autogen error reports sent to me are either fixed or forwarded to the
menu maintainer for repair.
-maintain the private NCF phone list (go team)


Goals for 1998
--------------
-maintain the FreePlace area and improve it to make it easy to understand
-help newbies make an Internet connection to NCF
-fill in any gaps
-document new Web services as they develop
