There was a special dinner on Christmas day 2005 at 6:30 pm at St. Paul’s Church, 20 Young Road, Kanata.
We invited the following deserving people:
This dinner was the gift of a fairly small group of very generous parishioners to those who honoured us with their company on this special day. We thank the givers most sincerely.
Chief cook, from the Kanata Community Alpha: Laurie-Ann Copple.
We were delighted that 38 guests showed up, and 31 volunteers made sure they had a great time. Many of the volunteers and a few of the guests were alumni from the first dinner in 2004. Nigel Kilby provided entertainment throughout the evening including two Santa Clauses! This time we were able to give away two TV sets, courtesy of JC Delisle of JC Electronics, and many children's toys thanks to the extreme generosity of RJ. Everything, including the large spread of cakes and sweet treats went to people who needed them.
Laurie-Ann and Tony give our heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful and generous volunteers who gave up their Christmas Day to bring cheer to folks who would otherwise have been lonely.
