Steps for setting up an Airport Express with PPPoE settings.

Turn on the Apple Airport and select it with your wireless connection if you can, or plug in an ethernet cable into its network interface from your computer.

On your Mac, go to "Applications" and select "Utilities" folder
Find "Airport Utility" in there and launch it. It should bring up a window for the utility, with your Airport device along the left side.

At the bottom of the screen choose "Manual Setup"

Up at the very top of the Airport Utility's window, select "Internet" and then select the "Internet Connection" icon. It looks like a glass ball.

Beside "Connect Using" Select "PPPoE"
Under "Account Name", put in your NCF ID "ab123@ncf.ca"
Under "Password", put your DSL password. Put it in again under "Verify Password"

Then choose "Update" to apply those choices.

The Airport should be able to connect through your bridge-mode modem to set up your NCF service now. Ensure your Airport is connected to your modem, and your modem is connected to the phone line. Power them all up and wait a few minutes for everything to get started.

Look at the bottom of the DLink router to see if there is information about the configuration page address. The model used for this help page is a Dlink EBR-2310, but many others have a similar interface.

When you have logged in (the example router has a user ID of "admin" and no password), then under "Setup" at the top, and "Internet" at the left, select "Manual Internet Connection Setup."

On the screen that arrives next, look for the "Internet Connection Type" area of the window, and choose the "My Internet Connection is:" pull-down menu to select "PPPoE(Username/Password)"

Once you've selected that you will see the "PPPOE INTERNET CONNECTION TYPE:" box is added lower down on that page, and you can select The following settings:

Address Mode: "Dynamic IP"
User Name: Use your NCF id here, in the form of your email address - like ab123@ncf.ca
Password and Verify Password - use your DSL password - which is 12characters long
The rest of the settings can be left as is.

When you've entered those items, select the "Save Settings" button up near the top of the screen.

When a separate router is used with your NCF modem, the typical setup is to put the modem into "Bridge" mode and have the router do the user authentication. The name of that authentication setting is called "PPPoE."
