From the Start menu, select
Settings, then choose Network and
Dial-up Connections.
In the Network and Dial-up Connections Window
select the Make New Connection option.
Click Next on the window that appears (shown
below)
Select the Dial-up to the Internet option and
click Next on the window that appears (shown
below)
Select the Third option (to set up your
connection manually) and click Next on the window
that appears (shown below)
Select the I connect through a phone line and a
modem option and click Next on the window that
appears (shown below)
Enter the information as shown below and click
Next.
(Note: If you are not long distance to Ottawa you
may uncheck the Use area code and dialing rules
option)
Enter your NCF Account ID in the User name box
and your password in the password box and click Next
on the window that appears (shown below)
Enter the name you want for the connection in the
Connection name box and click Next on the
window that appears (shown below)
(Note: this entry will not affect your ability to
connect, it is what the icon for your connection will be
called)
Select the No option and click Next on the
window that appears (shown below)
(Note: If you wish to set up your email in Outlook
Express you may select Yes here and follow the
instructions found in the "Instructions
on setting up mail Accounts with Outlook Express"
beginning at the "Display Name" step)
Click Finish on the window that appears (shown
below)
(Note: If you don't wish to connect upon clicking
Finish uncheck the box shown in the window)
To Dial-up simply double click the Icon that appears in your Network and Dial-up Connections window.
You have successfully created a Dial-up Connection in Windows 2000.
